Year-End Phase 3 Download Available Now

The 2011 Year-End Phase 3 download is now available from the V6 Software Updates page of our website.

This Phase 3 download contains the Temporary Payroll Tax Cut Continuation Act of 2011, extending the Employee Social Security tax rate reduction of 4.2%.

For those customers on a Release prior to 116, this download is contained in the 115.04 Phase 3 SPR download.

For those on a 116 Release, this update is contained in the 116.03 Release.

Note:  To find what Release (build number) you are on, within Famous click on Help > About.  The build number is found on the Client Information tab.

Important Payroll Notice RE: Social Security Tax

On Dec 23, 2011 Congress passed the Temporary Payroll Tax Cut Continuation Act of 2011 extending the Employee Social Security tax rate reduction of 4.2%.  Employers have until January 31 to implement this change.

The updates containing these Social Security tax changes should be available on our website the week of January 16th.

As a reminder, once the update is applied, the Social Security tax will automatically adjust in future payments to correct the YTD deduction.

The Year-End Phase 2 download contains important payroll changes, including updates to State and Federal Tax Tables.

Note:  In order to install this download, you must be on a Year-End Release, 115.04 or 116.02.

Famous 2011 Year-end Releases Now Available

These Year-End Famous Software releases contain important Year-End Payroll and Accounts Payable updates, including updates to W-2s, Tax Tables, and 1099s.

There are two Year-End releases, release 115.04 and 116.02: 

• For those currently on a 116 release, please download and install Year-End release 116.02. 
• For those currently on any release prior to 116, please read through the release notes for 115.04 and 116.02 to determine which release is appropriate for you.

The Phase 2 Year-End update, which includes the Federal and additional state tax changes, is also available.

W-2 and 1099 Form Order Deadline 12/15
